Since the start of September I have been working on my online profiles and making them much more professional and established. I attended an employability workshop in April that demonstrated how building a strong LinkedIn profile was an important tool for employability, I created one then but didn't put much time into making connections. Over the past month I have been on the site everyday and started to make more connections and see all the benefits the site provides, such as job listings and generally making it easier to find the type of people (potential mentors) that I would like to approach.

I have started to follow the types of establishments that appeal to me and my career path...
I have also created a journalism twitter account that focuses on News and Media. I find this the best way to stay up to date about what is going on in local news and international news, and also another great way of making connections and looking at potential employment opportunities. I have followed accounts that are of interest to me, including freelance journalists, well-known magazines and newspapers, and local companies and sports teams.
