Mentoring and work placement

Over the last week I’ve secured my mentor for the multimedia enterprise module which I couldn’t be more pleased about. Robyn is currently working as an assistant campaign manager for the Cabinet Office. Her job sounds so interesting and I’m really enjoying hearing about what she does. It’s encouraging me to think outside the box when it comes to future career prospects.

I’ve also managed to secure a place next March at House of Hearst magazine publishing company, who publish magazines such as Good Housekeeping. Again, I’m super excited and am already planning ahead for the ten days in London. I’ve told Robyn about this placement and also asked for her advice on my Cv so I can feel more confident when sending it to more potential work experience vacancies/employers. I’m interested in gaining experience in magazine, newspaper and communications.

Here is our first exchange where Robyn describes her career so far. I’m next going to send her my Cv and ask her advice on how to make a good impression on placements.
